Careflite's caring-heart membership highlights

As a resident of Hill county, Emergency Service District (ESD) 2 pays for your CareFlite Membership (it is part of your taxes and sales tax). When you dial 9-1-1 for a medical emergency your call is transferred to a medically trained dispatcher who will give you guidance and ask you questions.


If you are a weekender in White Bluff, you are still eligible, fill out the application and ensure your address in White Bluff is listed.


CareFlite provides valuable training to your fire department as part of their continuing education program.

You are not automatically entered in the Careflite database. You need to register and you can download the CareFlite Application. Also help out the first responders by filling out a FILE OF LIFE form (see File of Life) page below.

Every resident of ESD #2 district (See ESD for further) receives the following benefits paid for by the ESD #2:

  • Caring Heart Ground and Air membership – ESD #2 pays a yearly membership on behalf of ESD #2 residents. This allows residents of Hill County (except City of Whitney and Hillsboro residents)to utilize CareFlite’s emergency medical services at no cost to the resident. Residents with insurance do not receive a bill for EMS services, while residents without health insurance are only billed 50% of the original charges.
  • CareFlite encourages everyone that travels or lives within the city limits of Whitney or Hillsboro to purchase a plan to ensure you are covered in case you need air or ground transport. Visit their website at www.careflite.org only $49.00 a year.
