The White Bluff Volunteer Fire Department…

The White Bluff Volunteer Fire Department started in 1995, with one brush truck and a few volunteers after lightning struck some of the brush that surrounds White Bluff. With the help of surrounding volunteer fire departments, the fire was put out and a nearby home was not damaged. After that, it was realized that a fire department was needed for our growing community. The next year an engine was purchased and has since grown into what you see today with eight fire trucks, a rescue boat on Lake Whitney and a support van.  Our Fire Department is a valuable asset to White Bluff as many of our firefighters are also medically trained to respond and give much-needed life-saving assistance until a CareFlite ambulance arrives.

Help Us Help White Bluff Residents

Always call 911: The fire department does not have someone in the office every day and never in the evenings. Do not Call Security, Do Not Call the WBVFD Office phone.  Call 911 for the quickest response time.

Reflective home numbers:  These help your fire department and ambulances locate your home, especially in the dark.  They are made and installed by members of the WBVFD.  They cost $30.00 for two.

Fundraising: Each October WBVFD holds a fundraiser to help with the expenses involved in the upkeep of the seven fire trucks, a fire/rescue boat and the fire station.  Great food, music, and a raffle of donated items keep things fun during the night. You can buy tickets or make a donation here.

Volunteer: To ensure our continued high level of service, we would like to see new members joining up all the time.  Our members are dedicated but people move or find their health can no longer support the demands of being a firefighter. We can never have too many FAST (Support) members.  We take care of our firefighters and raise money to fund the department. If you would like to become a firefighter, an emergency medical responder or a FAST member, please apply today.

Care Flite: You are not automatically entered in the Careflite database. You need to register, if you have not registered for CareFlite you can download the  CareFlite Application here. After you complete the application, please mail it to Careflite, 3110 S. Great Southwest Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. If you have registered with CareFlite you will NOT be sent a bill. If you are not in the system, you will be billed and you will have to go through a verification process to take care of the bill.

Heart And Soul Of The Department: The White Bluff VFD is a group of people dedicated to serving their community and neighbors.  No one is paid, not even the Chief. All Firemen and Emergency Medical Responders attend continuing education and training four (4) times a month which is required to maintain the ISO rating (see ISO & Insurance).
