Safety Tip for Grass Fire Season

If your lawn looks brown and dry think twice before mowing because as the blades get warm it can spark a fire. That is what happened on July 27th at 11:40 am when WBVFD assisted 2604 VFD and Woodbury VFD with wheat field on fire.

When mowing in the Texas Heat please make sure you have a functional Fire Extinguisher available in case you do spark a fire.

Unfortunately the heat of the summer brings on Grass Fire Season. We are always needing Bottles of Water to help our firefighters stay hydrated. Water is best for this. We also ask our community to join Support to help with Hydration Rehab program of all Firefighters not just our White Bluff Volunteers. These efforts are beneficial to everyone living near White Bluff in the Hill County area.

August and September are typically our worst months for grass fires. Please be careful and always call 911.
